JUGGY RECAPS THE HORROR

Juggy recaps the night:

A copy of this will be saved on my blog if this thread gets locked.

This is 100% the truth from Juggy's point of view. Any discrepencies are due to events hapening all at once and things may be missed while i was not paying attention or afk.

In the begining there was boredom. It was a slow day at work and Juggy was bored out of his mind, untill Xandir poped up on IM and said that dragons were confirmed poping when spires were completed. Not wanting to miss this Juggy took off 15min early to rush home and see the new dragons.

When I loged in about the only thing I knew was what I had read on the live event update thread. The CL spire was nearly done and antonica's was only 150 or so behind. The crafters had done their duty all day and more then enough crafted materials were ready for use. All that was left were essences.

Dutifuly Juggy set to work collecting. It was not long before the rumors came flying in.
Another server had spawned a lvl 60 x4 dragon in EL which droped 24 fabled necklaces and a title.
The dragons had HUGE AE's and were impossible to kill.
There were 4 possible dragons.
If you killed one dragon you couldn't kill any others (lots of rumors on this point)
The EL and ANT dragons were lvl 30!

Soon the spire was at 950/1000 and Defiance had formed up. The plan was to fan out, find the dragon and lock it before anyone else could. The rumor that it might be 30 was a hot issue. Defiance offecers decided that if it came in lvl 30 to back off and not waste a possible lockout on a dragon that others could benifit from.

998/1000 and everyone was forming up. Insults were traded between DP and Defiance.
AD shows up asking what was going on... was it true a dragon poped when spires done?
999/1000 Scouts spread out with track up.
1000/1000! The dragon was on its way! Soon it swooped in from the north east! But it wasn't agro! No one knew what level it was.
A message flashed that it was overpowered by our force. Juggy shouted on TeamSpeak BACK OFF! IT IS 30!!
Defiance ran back and waited to see what would happen.
Some wanted to log alts, Juggy included. There was no honor in mentoring to kill a 30, and no point if it locked us from a lvl 60 fight! A few Defiance camped. Teamspeak was horrible to understand anyone with everyone trying to talk at once.
"DP IS MENTORING!" someone said. "Lennadel was one shotted" another anounced. Finaly it was clear DP was taking the dragon and were going to win.

"EVERYONE HEAD TO EL" The call came in that EL was at 700/1000 and needed help to finish.
Defiance raced over and after some experimenting found the best mobs to kill for essences.
A post was made congradulating DP on killing the lvl 30 which was quickly removed by mods.
A 2nd post "gone in 60 seconds" was later locked.
Several jokes traded on TeamSpeak and Stannis bet Juggy that Templar was lower DPS than Defiler.
PROVE IT! Stannis and Juggy each grabbed a ^^^ Nightblood and the race was on. For a while Juggy was ahead, but in the end Juggy's mob droped first with Stannis's at 1%. Guess Templar and Defiler realy are evenly matched.

Where is DP? THEY ARE DOING POETS PALACE RUNS!!
900/1000 the first DP show up and begin forming under the spire.
950/1000 lag is realy bad from spectators and a DP/AD (unsure if they were linked or 2 seperate) raid was standing by.
998/1000 Scouts spread out, DP is going to try and steal! SAME PLAN GET ENCOUNTER LOCKED WE STILL DON'T KNOW 100% IF THEY ARE LOCKED OUT OR NOT!!
999/1000
1000/1000 EVERYONE LOOK OUT GET IT LOCKED ASAP!

The huge black dragon flew in. Juggy did not see it arive he was on the north side of the spires. The earth shook as the beast set down. Chaos, pure chaos, then finaly "We got it!! Everyone heal abelia!" The dragon rose up and with a flap of its wings threw everyone back. The raid scatered in all directions from the blow. Stunned it took Juggy a second to realize he had landed in the water. Another second to get his bearings and he was swiming madly for the shore. Abelia was taking hit after hit from the mighty claws but it could not pierce her armor! The clash of teeth on steal rang out and Juggy called the spirits for their protection. Wraped in an un-natural ward Abelia was protected for now. Once again the beast rose up and once again Defiance was scattered! Bodies flew everywhere but thankfully no one died. Another second of chaos as Exenka turned tward Armus. Un worried Abelia calmly grabed the beasts attention with a resounding shout!
Seconds later the body lay lifeless and a great shout of victory echoed through the Enchanted Lands.

"Good Job all! We did it! Congradulations on our new titles" Juggy will wear his proudly. This title shows that Juggy has stood against a great dragon and won.

What now? Many great warriors are tired and need to go home to rest after a day of battleing. Some want to try and kill the Antonica dragon.

ENTER SUPER FRIENDS!!!

About 8 Defiance alts showed up to try for the Antonica dragon. When we arived the tower was at 900 / 1000. A few crafters worked away at benches and a group of Beegy Raiders was watching on waiting to follow in DP's footsteps.

Un-detered A raid is formed. SUPER FRIENDS Want a stab at the dragon. The 30-39 channel is spammed with advertisements for a pickup raid to the Antonica dragon. A flood of requests comes in and the raid is completed.

FOR THE RECORD ONLY ONE THIRD (1/3) OF THIS RAID WAS SUPERFRIENDS! THE REST WAS PICKUP RAIDERS FROM ALL GUILDS! NO PREFERENCE WAS MADE WHAT SO EVER TO ANY ONE BASED ON GUILD! RAIDERS WERE CHOSEN SOLY ON THE BASIS OF LEVEL AND CLASS!!
And why shouldn't they be? This is a lvl 30 dragon, seems fitting that a group of 30-40 should kill it! We even had a lvl 28 and a lvl 29 involved.

What seemed like hours passed untill for reasons unknown to me Beeglin and his raid brokeup and logged out. At this point the spire was 917/1000. Yes thats right only 17 progress in what seemed like hours. As a matter of fact it was probably only one hour.

Great! The little raid that could keept working. Despite trouble with mentoring, afk's LD's and other common pickup problems.

When the spire is nearing 980/1000 another raid apears. A raid of 60's who will be mentoring down to try and steal the glory of killing a mob half their lvl.
Along with competing raids comes insults. I was not paying to much mind to /ooc and /shout

4 HOURS LATER! The spire is finished and the dragon arives!

Several times the dragon turned agro and the other raid grabbed it. EACH TIME THEY LOST IT BEcAUSE SOME OR ALL OF THEM WERE TOO HIGH OR OTHERWISE NOT ALLOWED! The dragon turned un-agro again, reset and we tried again.

Eventualy we got the lock. Down it went. I was a little unsure how a pickup raid of 30-40's would handle a x4, not many in those levels have any kind of raid expierence. I even had one person who joined ask me what a "pickup" raid was.
My voice on teamspeak was clearly showing my frustration all night. Organizing a pickup raid to get the last 100 of the spire was not easy and it took 4 hours to complete what should have taken 30min.

BEEGLIN: I have a whole new respect for what you do. I never want to be leader of a pickup again.

On the whole the night was good. I was thanked MANY times for a wonderfull raid, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I was told repeatedly that I had done a wonderfull job making sure this raid got the kill over the others that were simply mentoring to steal.

The above is completly un-edited. I even left in my cursing to show that: yes at 6:19:11 in the morning I do not expect any children to be online, and those that are should have the language filter set. However I would like to point out Kaze. This is entirly un called for. As mentioned MANY times there were no defiance members in this raid. The highest lvl in this raid was a 51. the lowest a 28. EIGHT(8) members of the raid were in SUPER FRIENDS whom you all know by now is defiances alt guild. that is 1/3 defiance alts, and 2/3 pickup of whomever wanted of apropriate level.

I've been harsh on your guild, and intentionally so, due to the actions and behavior of some of your members. I will lay off the attacks and see what happens. Granted I'm not saying I won't post if I disagree with something, but I won't outright flame your guild the way I have been. We'll see how that goes. Also, for the record, I'm not in a raiding guild, never have been, and have absolutely no interest in being in one, so jealousy is not a factor.

What exactly then are you hoping to accomplish by flaming every thread that I respond to? 24/30 of your posts against Defiance makes me wonder if your just looking to cause drama.
You speak of self controll yet you can not controll yourself. You respond to a post I make telling others to not flame with inflamitory remarks!

As for my all caps posts? Run a quick search for other server firsts... DP even uses bold and italics in their darathar post. If you look at other guilds posts and their entirly positive responces, I can only come to one conclusion: Jelousy. I am very sorry for whatever reason you have to flame but some facts remain the same:
1) Defiance is a raiding guild
2) We are the best on the server
3) Being so far ahead of the other raiding guilds we will always get the server firsts
4) As is human nature we will always post our accomplishments. Bragging, cheering, and jumping up and down screeming like little girls is what is expected after a hard won fight.
5) posting our accomplishments is also a way for others to keep up with how we are doing. Its advertisment. In the 2 days following our defeat of the Godking, I personaly got 4 recruitment /tells, and as a guild we gained 3 new members.

Finaly the most important fact:
6) Flaming us is only making us look better in the eyes of the comunity. Re-read all of our locked posts. You will see that yourself, flycry and only 1 or 2 others have taken stances against us. The rest of the comunity tells you to back off and let us celebrate. You are not making us look bad, you are not making any one chage their minds against us. You are showing the comunity that defiance drama is directly a resault of YOU THE FLAMERS!

I looked up his record on posts. It seems that 24 of his 30 posts are directed against me and my guild. I can not see how this is a contribution to the community or acceptable behavior on the forums.

He is now draging his drama over to other guilds posts simply because I have posted there. He is stiring up trouble and causing honest threads to be locked. This kind of harrasment is going to far, can something be done about him please?

Building the spire!

Great progress so far on the CL spire. I worked on it this morning with both Juggerknott and my alt. When I left for work it was only 137/1000, and at the time of writing this the latest report is 356/1000 and the first arm has been built!

I must say I am very excited for the expansion and from the progress everyone else is too! This thing will be finished tonight for sure at the rate things are going now.

And here is one of the 24 necklaces that will ever exist on LDL! Pretty sweet. I hear that there is a very similar one in Ferrott. Rumor goes that its the same except for it has magic resist instead of devine.
The rumor also says that once you kill one dragon you set a flag that you can not kill any of the others.

Glad we didn't prove our worth against the lvl 30!

Gates of crap

Posting the parses from our last LT raid. *Sniffle* I'll miss you Gates of somehorriblewordican'tpronounce. Bah, Juggy wuz startin to hate dat zone. Took too damn long and mostly droped da same ting over and over and over! Vaoz was calling the drops with 90% accuracy before opening each chest.
Usualy we get the Gi... From my understanding this is one of the more rare items and I've been told that there are only 9-10 in the game. We have 4 of em. Lucky? For the brawlers... but all the rest of his loot table been eluding us. However we did get the shield last night. I'll post a screeny of that later.

Anyway. Real reason I am making this post: Check out the Ahk'Mun Rhoen parse: I could have sworn the token crafted earlier in this zone did 450k-ish damage previously. Maybe my parser couldn't believe it. 53,926 damage! This makes no sence. Parse is reporting 504k damage done to him total. I was paying closer attention to Jenna's life more than Ahk'Mun Rhoen's Maybe it now does 10% instead of 50? Whatever.

Okay wasn't originaly gonna post these but: Naggash, with less than a week till expansion, eat your heart out: The parses for the Twins and the first named on 4th floor are up. Take what info you can from it.

but what is concerning me is that, me and Skina always seem to be 2nd and 3rd highest parsing... we are not supposed to parse that high, because we have super debuffs and as we saw from BQ, we can survive some hits (9K piercing survival for the win.I had enough time to switch to def stance before BQ got her hit in)

Lakym died twice and still was up there on the list something is up

When you have even Abelia out parsing mages maybe some people can pick it up a little. I do not really think I am off base in this, even when I combine the pets the mages are low

I know some people got teleported like Soth.

Just remember in a week me and Skina lose the ability to use manastones, shards, vessals, etc. We also lose the ability to fight dmg shielded mobs very easily. Someone will have to fill the gap.

Abelia is high on the parse for good reason... look at her dmage. Much of it is from damage shields and other procs.

Other interesting points... Strike of the Eternal proced only once out of 106 (presuming both weapons hit equally) strikes with the weapon O.o Looking at Skina he had the same problem with it procing although the Terrorantula's bite proced very nicely

Knockdown only proced once and that is a 30% chance to knockdown on hit

and regular interuppt is a 30% chance as well only 12 times 4 of which is from another skill's interuppt.

Another thing that is cool about posting parses: you can check up on SOE and say
"AH-HA! LOOK RIGHT THERE! PROOF THAT SOMETHING IS BROKEN!"

As for if you got a salvation spell, yes that will show up as incoming healing. Check out what incoming healing you got and see if there is a spell you don't recognize as a normal heal.

Before you ask: No a ward will not show up in any way - shape or form. That 9k damage you took (if a ward was on you) would have been 9 k AFTER whatever the ward obsorbed. SO if you had a ward on you its possible you were hit for 10k actualy.

When I steped up and proved him WRONG he changed his post in an effort to cover his tail. What the fuck darksong? You can't live with your mistakes... Stand up and take it like a man! An experiment in ACT

Trying to put my FTP server to good use. This may or may not work. The example I will use is Godking! Yes anyone who realy cares to see the parse of the godking fight here it is:

Playing cat and mouse with ISP think they shut down port21 so changed port to 22, lets see if this is a permanent fix... or maybe just a few hours till they wise up and shut down 22 for my connection.

Has anyone tested this since this morning? Yestarday port 21 worked for me for a little while from work, so I know that the router settings and firwall are not an issue. However my work blocks port 22 so can not test from here. Anyone get in?

Okay, I'm stumped. I put it back to port 21 this morning as port 22 is blocked on most systems for security reasons. The error I am getting is 425 can't open data connection. Anyone got any ideas. I am a security person so I know that the firewall and router is not the problem. I am not a networking person, I am trying to teach myself, so if anyone has any suggestions or insights as to why it would work perfectly even from the outside for a few hours then not at all even from the inside giving "error 425 can't open data connection" kindly post them.

If I can get this working I would be more than happy to provide free hosting for guilds pages and files on my FTP box. If this works I am actualy planning to upgrade my FTP pos box to a real server as a hobby project with attached disk arrays and everything.

Played with the PASV settings a bit and opened the port range for pasive transfers a little. I think I got it working now.

EDIT:

The same rules of the FTP still apply, last time I put this up I had someone try to brute force it. This is not cool and will only resault in me taking down the server for everyone.
On that note: THERE IS NO ADMIN ACCOUNT AT ALL PERIOD! DO NOT TRY TO BRUTE FORCE WHAT IS NOT THERE! The ONLY account setup now is the anon login with ONLY read privilages set.

Juggy thinks some more about server transfers:Guilds

I have noticed MANY people with similar thoughts to this:

Guild transfer? I refuse to believe a guild can be so stupid as to throw away all its accomplishments (read: guild level, game achievements, etc.) just to move to a more easy-going server.

In my opinion, we will see a lot of new faces. But definitely not guild transfers.

Well this is what juggy things:
Thre is a very big issure you all are forgetting. Other raiding guilds are going to look at the server they are going to / getting from and are going to size each other up. Now what happens when Guild A realizes that oncoming guild B is MUCH more powerfull and will destroy them. Guild A might be thinking about where they can go to be top dog or even competition.
Read the LDL boards. We are full of "I'm a pansy roleplayer, I don't care about leveling... butterflies!" A raiding guild is going to read this and think that this is the perfect place to go to get away from another guild causing them / or soon to be causing them grief.

TO THOSE GUILDS I CAN SAY 2 THINGS:

• The drama on LDL is 10x worse than whatever you are expierencing now. Witness: FlyCry.
  
• LDL is not the ripe raiding grounds ready to be harvisted. The player base here has next to 0 interest in being part of a raiding guild and recruiting is harsh. Defiance has gotten by with out a full roster of players to choose from for each varying situation through pure determination and defiance.

What does Defiance care? For those interested the main thing we are worried about is how we will get along with a new guild that may transfer here. Juggy personaly would love to see some real competition. Sorry DP you guys just arn't giving us a run for any server firsts. What Juggy does not want is guilds fighting each other at any opertunity. Competition and drama between raiding guilds can be brutal.

Beggy raiders inc?

1. Most of the tier 5 raids will still be the traditional first come, first serve, open to the public funness
However.
I'm considering having a SET raiding crew for the tier 6 raids. A group of people who will be able to log on at (x) times when (x) tier 6 raids are chedualed, and be able to become a consistant raid crew.
2. I'm considering implimenting a DKP system for the Tier 6 raids. This will NOT be a system that will keep the same people on top and I'm dedicated to keeping it so that everyone within our raid-group will get loot, as well as give anyone who we pick up just as much as a shot as the biggest tank.


What do you guys think in regards to this?

Well Beegy. Juggy thinks many things. I posted a small responce on your thread, but here I will post the raw uncensored flame the hell outa juggy thoughts:

Seriously... I always suspected it would come down to this. Raiding is an addiction and you will always want more, and stronger stuff. t5 is pot, and perscriptions, soon you will want the hardstuff. What to do to get the hardstuff? You need other addicts to help you.

How can this be acomplished in a Beegy way? Well I would suggest a very similar policy to Juggy's open raiding policy for Defiance while we were recruiting. Be forwarned that this is 99% likely to end up forming its own guild.
Hand pick your friends and make a core group. This should be all those that are essential to the raid. Your MT group: Tank, healers and 2 or 3 buffers / debuffers. This should be 7-8 people who share your vision. In my expierences being part of the core group would make me want some sort of preferential treatment simply because I'd be busting my ass out there every night, and watching the super rare server discovery go to someone who showed up once and won't come back would hurt. As such you will need people in the core who will at least start out as wanting to just raid for the fun of raiding.
Next I suggest a very similar open raiding policy to what I did with Defiance. Allow anyone to come fill the spots you need, make a channel for interested parties from any guild to join that you can shout "I need 2 of X type of Z level" in.

THE LOOT: Here is where you are opening yourself up to trouble. DKP allows for rewarding those who are dedicated and help out every night over those who come once a week or less. And I believe rightly so.
Random rewards those who come every now and then and has the potential to piss off the guy who raided every day for 3 weeks looking for a particular item that just got won by someone who raided once and never will again.

WHY THIS WILL BECOME A GUILD: Addiction. Your core group will eventualy become addicted and you/they will want/need to be geared up as best as possible for the harder and harder mobs. This is not a perfect world and we are dealing with humans so this will lead to some kind of favoritism / pride rightly so for the core group. As you raid more and more you will get regulars who will share this pride. Eventualy it is doomed to become a guild for reliability and friendship reasons.

Face it Beegy, you are going to have to make Beegy raiders inc.


OTHER INTERSTING SIDE EFFECTS

Some interesting things to note about this Beeglin. You are in a very interesting situation. You are proving infront of the entire server the evolution of raiding. I find it facinating the circle that is coming complete.

• You started with Defiance as a guest raider on an open raiding policy designed to recruit.
  
• You opted not to recruit with the idea that you wanted to raid while staying in your own guild.
  
• Things worked better than you had ever hoped! (congrats by the way)
• You have become so addicted that you want to try harder stuff.
• To try harder stuff you need consistancy, a core group and schedualed raids.
• You are proposing a policy VERY similar to the open raiding policy that was used to start you down your path.
• Soon that group of core raiders will band togather into a guild and you will be recruiting (however unintentionaly) through your open raiding policy the same as Defiance did.

Thus a raiding guild is borne :)

Blue balls in PP2

There are MANY posts about the 2min reset bug. The devs know about it and have so far done nothing. Tonite for the 2nd week in a row Defiance has worked all the way to the 2 named: Jenirodi and Raneshu and the FUCKING BUG beat us.

IT IS SO GOD DAMN FRUSTRATING! GETTING TO THAT FAR WITH NO RING! WORKING OVER EVERY OBSTICLE AND THEN HAVING TO QUIT AT 70% ARMOR!!! FOR FUCKS SAKE SOE GET OFF YOUR FAT ASSES AND FIX THE GOD DAMN BUGS!
